Elana's Spicy Slaw

One of my favorite blogs for recipes that are tasty, easy, sugar, and gluten free is Elana's Pantry. She is a wizard with almond flour! Here is her recipe for Spicy Slaw

½ head purple cabbage, shredded
1 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
1 carrot, grated
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
1 teaspoon minced ginger
2 limes, juiced
2 tablespoons olive oil
7 drops stevia
½ teaspoon celtic sea salt

1.Place the cabbage, cilantro, carrot, jalapeño and ginger in a large bowl

2.Toss veggies with lime, olive oil and stevia, then sprinkle with salt

3.Serve

Gorilla Style Goodness

I am totally addicted to everything at Gorilla Foods that has their Olive Tepanade in it. It is a tepanade to die for. I have been craving the 'Main St. Monkey Sandwich' almost every day! Gorilla Foods is a funky little place on Richards Street, nestled downstairs in between Hastings and Pender. Everything on their menu is organic, vegan, and raw. Don't let that have any negative connotations, everyone I have introduced to the Gorilla has been pleasantly surprised by the scrumtiousness of everything they have to offer.
Check out their menu, and for something different, and vegalicious head on over to the Gorilla for a meal, or snack, of really filling smoothie. They are now open from 11-7, excluding Sundays. Enjoy!

Super easy, quick, yummy, breakfast, or snack.... Healthy COOKIE....

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Take one ripe banana. Ditch the peel. Mush it up with a fork in a bowl. stir in some vanilla, cinnamon, maybe some nutmeg. Also stir in approximately 1 cup of oats, and then anything else you want! Some dark chocolate chips or carob chips, blueberries, nuts, coconut,cocoa nibs, goji berries,hemp hearts.....Combinations are endless. Spoon on to a cookie sheet, doesn't have to be too perfect. Bake for 12 minutes. Much longer, and they aren't quite as good. Banana and Oats are a good source of energy for intense workouts, and it's a nice light yet dense snack to get you through an energy slump. I will post a pic after I make some up this evening.
